Gemma

I have been crafting in some form all my life but have been making cards and papercrafting for almost 2 years. I live in the Midlands, UK with my Husband and our two gorgeous (but naughty) Bengal cats, who love to 'help' me craft! Apart from papercrafts I love to cross stitch and have recently started making jewellery too. One day I hope to be good enough to make a living out of the things I enjoy!
Tips on Making Cards in by the Batch.
Getting Ready -
Simplicity is the key word to making your cards assembly line fashion
Choose a few supplies you love and limit the colors to keep things from becoming complicated.
Make sure you have a large, protected work area. I like to use the desk size tear off calenders. As one sheet gets dirty I just tear it off and there is a nice clean one.
Line up your supplies within easy reach
Make sure you are familiar with any new tool or technique that you might be using.
Getting Started -
Make a card or two and see if you like it.
Now Let's Get These Cards Made
Measure, cut and fold card stock or use precut cards.
Emboss, stamp, die or hand cut the pieces you will be using on your cards.
Arrange and glue to your card.
Embellish by adding brads, ribbon, stickers or what ever you want.
I also make my cards a standard size so envelopes won't be a problem. This assemby line is nice to do if you enter a lot of swaps where many of the same cards are required.
You know Stickers are so beautiful these days you could make a card using a large sticker as your image.
You can also cheat a little....Make the basic card put it in your scanner then print off duplicates, then embellish.
